Abstract— : Toward Energy-Efficient Cloud Computing Prediction, Consolidation < Final Year Projects 2016 >amalgamation and Over Commitment. Energy consumption is the consumption of energy or power. Cloud Computing is a developing technology which is revolutionizing the IT Infrastructure due to its high scalability and flexibility in providing the computing resources as services on demand. The energy consumption of under-utilized resources, particularly in a cloud environment, accounts for a substantial amount of the actual energy use. Inherently, a resource allocation strategy that takes into account resource utilization would lead to a better energy efficiency; Cloud data centers are made up of large servers which consume a great amount of power which will in turn increase the operating costs and the environmental impact in terms of CO2 emissions.
