A Four-Switch Three-Phase AC-DC Converter with Galvanic Isolation
Abstract-A new single stage three-phase AC-DC converter with four switches and galvanic isolation is proposed in this paper. The new converter is simple and uses fewer switches than previously proposed AC-DC converters of the same type. It is a bridgeless converter that can operate with continuous input current and with any PWM method suitable for a standard threephase six-switch voltage source rectifier. In this paper, the operation, control, analysis and design of the proposed converter are explained and its features are discussed. Experimental results obtained from a prototype that confirm the feasibility of the converter are presented as well.
